Craig, Parker soccer suffer shutouts
JANESVILLE A lack of scoring continues to plague Janesville Craig's boys soccer team.
The Cougars were shutout Tuesday in a 1-0 Big Eight Conference loss to Madison La Follette.
Casey Mael scored the game's only goal on a free kick at the 13-minute mark of the first half.
Craig (4-9-0, 0-5-0) got seven saves from Keagan Leckey but could not find the net.
"We just aren't finishing when we get the opportunities," Craig coach Charlie Friedrich said. "I thought we controlled play in the second half but that one miscue in the first half cost us.
"We're definitely a second-half team, but I would like for us to start being a first-half team, as well."
Craig plays at Big Eight powerhouse Madison Memorial on Thursday night.
