Lake Lawn adding a spa
What it is: A new spa at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan will be open to the public without the need to have a room reservation.
The spa, named Calladora, will feature a full range of services including nails, massages, facials and hair.
"The name Calladora means beauty by the water, and it's the perfect name for our new spa," said Christine Showalter, the director of spa operations at Lake Lawn. "In addition to our complete line of services, we will pamper our customers in a tranquil environment where all they have to do is relax and enjoy."
Showalter emphasized that the spa's stress-free atmosphere is available to the community as well as Lake Lawn guests.
"We will offer high-end services but with a price point that recognizes our intention to be a community spa," Showalter said.
Showalter, a Walworth native, began her career as a nail technician at Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva. She has worked at area spas including Asha SalonSpa in Rockford, Ill., and the Abbey in Fontana. She opened KeyLime Cove spa in Gurnee, Ill., and she most recently served as the assistant director of Well Spa at Grand Geneva.
"We are thrilled to welcome a spa professional of Christine Showalter's truly exceptional caliber," said Lake Lawn General Manager David Sekeres. "She is playing an instrumental role in successfully setting up an opening system and team of professionals."
Calladora has undergone a complete renovation from the previous spa at Lake Lawn.
Calladora will have a staff of 15 to 20 licensed and trained professionals, Showalter said. The staff will be crossed-trained in to offer seamless care and attention.
"We are just so very excited about Calladora and what it brings not only to Lake Lawn, but to the surrounding area," Showalter said.
Showalter said she expects the spa to be open and operating sometime this fall.
