In this Oct. 3, 2012, file photo, Republican presidential candidate former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama talk after the first presidential debate at the University of Denver in Denver. In 2008, Obama used Colorado as a stage both for his nominating convention and to show how his new brand of politics could unite young voters, women and minorities to create a winning coalition even in places that normally back Republican presidential candidates. Now Colorado has become an example of how hard it has been for Obama to maintain that coalition against the headwinds of a sour economy and his disastrous debate performance in Denver.

— The endgame at hand, President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney plunged into the final two weeks of an excruciatingly close race for the White House Tuesday with TV advertising nearing an astronomical $1 billion and millions of Americans casting early ballots in all regions of the country.

Increasingly, Ohio looms as ground zero in a campaign waged in tough economic times. The state’s unemployment rate of 7 percent is well below the national average of 7.8 percent, Obama has campaigned here more than in any other state and Romney has booked a heavy schedule of appearances in hopes of a breakthrough.

The economy was the theme Tuesday as the two rivals put their final, foreign policy-focused debate behind.

Obama brandished a new 20-page summary of his second-term agenda and told a campaign crowd in Florida his rival’s blueprint “doesn’t really create jobs. His deficit plan doesn’t reduce the deficit; it adds to it.”

More than that, he said Romney changes his positions so often that he can’t be trusted.

In Dayton, Obama said of his rival: “In the closing weeks of the campaign, he’s doing everything he can to hide his true positions. He is terrific at making presentations about stuff he thinks is wrong with America, but he sure can’t give you an answer about what will make it right. And that’s not leadership you can trust.”

Before flying to Ohio for his 17th trip of the election year, Obama also said with a hint of humility: “It doesn’t mean that every candidate is going to get everything done all at once perfectly, but you want somebody to be able to look you in the eye and say, here’s what I believe.”

Romney countered in an appearance before a large, cheering crowd in Henderson, Nev. He said Obama wants a new term for the same policies that have produced slow economic growth and high unemployment for four long years. “He is a status quo candidate. ... That’s why his campaign is slipping and ours is gaining so much steam,” he said.

Romney’s aides dismissed Obama’s 20-page booklet as nothing new, and the former Massachusetts governor said of the president: “His vision for the future is a repeat of the past.”

There seemed to be no end to the television advertising in a season when voters report they are heartily sick of it.

If anything, it was expanding in the race’s final days. Restore Our Future, which supports Romney, launched ads aimed at one of the two congressional districts in Maine in an attempt to peel one electoral vote away from Obama.

Material collected by ad trackers showed the two candidates and allied groups have spent or reserved nearly $950 million so far on television commercials, much of it negative, some of it harshly so. Romney and GOP groups had a $100 million advantage over Obama and his supporters, although variations in the purchase price made it difficult to compare the number of ads each side had run.

Increasingly, the two campaigns were focused on turning out their supporters in early balloting under way in more than half the states.

“Every single day right now is Election Day,” Obama’s campaign manager, Jim Messina, told reporters. On that, at least, Republicans offered no rebuttal.

About 5 million voters have already cast ballots according to data collected by the United States Elections Project at George Mason University, and about 35 million are expected to do so before Nov. 6.

While no votes will be counted until Election Day, the group said Democrats have cast more ballots than Republicans in the battleground states of North Carolina and Iowa by about 20 percentage points, while in Nevada, about 121,000 people have voted — 49 percent Democrats and 35 percent Republicans.

Republicans have an early edge in Colorado, where Republicans have cast 43 percent of the 25,000 ballots to date, to 34 percent for Democrats.

Romney’s camp projected confidence as the race entered its final phase, still riding an October surge in the polls that began after the challenger’s dominant performance in the first presidential debate on Oct. 3 in Denver.

The Electoral College math made clear neither man had sealed a victory.

Wins in Ohio and in Wisconsin — a state that Democrats have carried in the past six presidential elections — would leave Obama only five electoral votes short of the 270 needed for victory.

That placed a premium on Ohio — readily apparent from the candidates’ campaign schedules and the millions in television advertising flooding the state.

Romney arrives in Cincinnati on Wednesday night after a Western swing, and is expected to spend all day Thursday and part of Friday campaigning across the state.

His running mate, Paul Ryan, is to deliver a speech on the economy Wednesday at Cleveland State University, something of an unusual event in a campaign with only two weeks to run.

Obama intends to fly into the state Thursday at the end of a two-day, cross-country trip into a half-dozen battlegrounds.

Vice President Joe Biden was in Toledo during the day before heading to Dayton to join Obama for a rally, mid-way through Biden’s three-day tour of the state.

Barring a last-minute change, Obama appears on course to win states and the District of Columbia that account for 237 of the 270 electoral votes needed for victory. Romney has a firm hold on states with 191 electoral votes.

The battlegrounds account for the remaining 110 electoral votes: Florida (29), North Carolina (15), Virginia (13), New Hampshire (4), Iowa (6), Colorado (9), Nevada (6), Ohio (18) and Wisconsin (10).

Motorman.....I thought I was fairly clear in spelling out what the Obama administration and our federal government "did"........
--directed a $80 billion investment in the private sector that would only cost the American taxpayers somewhere in the neighborhood of a $25 billion loss
--directed the automakers through a "government managed" bankruptcy, which basically broke laws which were in place for generations, amounting to a massive payoff to the autoworker unions in which the unions were granted an ownership position in the companies leaving the bondholders of the companies with nothing.....

If you need any help with either the concepts or the larger words and/or their meanings, just ask.......
Now back to the initial questions, have you have any luck in coming up with the specific lies that are being repeated involving this topic?

UNDERSTAND THE FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE:::::::::::::
THIS WAS & IS THE PLAN.....

With the latest jobs report, it is now the case that "Under Obama, Food Stamp Growth [Is] 75 Times Greater Than Job Creation,".

Since January 2009, as the chart shows, a net of 194,000 new jobs have been created. During that same time, 14.7 million have been added to the food stamp rolls.

"Simply put, the President’s policies have not produced jobs. During his time in office, 14.7 million people were added to the food stamp rolls. Over that same time, only 194,000 jobs were created—thus 76 people went on food stamps for every one that found a job," says Senator Jeff Sessions, ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee. "This is a product of low growth. Post-recession economic growth in 2010 was 2.4%, and dropped in 2011 to 1.8%. This year it has dropped again to 1.77%. Few, if any, net jobs will be created with growth of less than 2%."

Less people working than when he was elected

For each job created, 75 people go on food stamps

No Budget for over 3 1/2 years (it is required by law)

He did not "save" the auto industry..and the "green cars" and Cash for Clunkers were more dismal failures

Ah,yes! The mythical tax plan. He would have to close all the loopholes to cut taxes 20%. Then when you add the elimination of inheritance taxes, capital gains taxes, dividend taxes, adding $2 trillion to the defense budget, it still doesn`t add up unless the deficit explodes more, or somebody else has their taxes go up. Oh, I forgot, increased economic growth will make it work. Keep dreaming, tax cuts only return 15-20% of their value in growth. It`s such a great plan, Romney said he can balance the budget in 8 or 10 years. Even the hyper-austere Ryan plan didn`t promise that.

Where are mittens tax returns?
Right where they should be--on file with the IRS

How much cash does he have stashed in the Caymans?
If he was smart--lots and lots of it! With Obama "redistributing" hundreds of billions of taxpayer money to "success stories" such as Solyndra, it just makes sense to keep as much money from our clueless leader.

Just how was his blind trust able to so out perform the rest of typical investment averages to build his fortune?
Most likely good business sense.......

Why does he like shipping our jobs to China then claim he doesn't
More importantly--how many companies and jobs has Romney responsible for creating and maintaining in this country compared to those same numbers created and maintained by Obama? If one of the key points regarding this election is job creation, this would be good to know....no?

If he was such a great governor why does that state tilt so hard to Obama?
Predominantly left and left leaning states overwhelmingly tend to vote democrat in presidential elections--Who would have thought?!?:)

Just what is his tax plan this week?
The same as it was last week and the week before that. Maybe he should publish a shiny, 20 page pamphlet with lots of neat pictures like Obama to better detail(or in Obama's case, not to detail) his position?

Finally is he really a Mexican?
I don't know...As long as he is a United States citizen, and born in this country, why should it matter to you?

Romney Campaign Training Poll Watchers To Mislead Voters In Wisconsin
Source: ThinkProgress

Mitt Romney’s campaign has been training poll watchers in Wisconsin with highly misleading — and sometimes downright false — information about voters’ rights.

Documents from a recent Romney poll watcher training obtained by ThinkProgress contain several misleading or untrue claims about the rights of Wisconsin voters. A source passed along the following packet of documents, which was distributed to volunteers at a Romney campaign training in Racine on October 25th. In total, six such trainings were held across the state in the past two weeks.

One blatant falsehood occurs on page 16 of the training packet, which informed poll watchers that any identification cards from a voter “must include a photo”, despite the fact that Wisconsin’s voter ID law has been blocked by multiple state judges for this election.

The training also encouraged volunteers to deceive election workers and the public about who they were associated with. On page 5 of the packet, Romney poll workers were instructed to hide their affiliation with the campaign and told to sign in at the polls as a “concerned citizen” instead. As Kristina Sesek, Romney’s legal counsel who just graduated from Marquette Law School last year, explained, “We’re going to have you sign in this election cycle as a ‘concerned citizen.’ We’re just trying to alleviate some of the animosity of being a Republican observer up front.”

40. Expanded Hate Crimes Protections: Signed Hate Crimes Prevention Act (2009), which expands existing hate crime protections to include crimes based on a victim's sexual orientation, gender, or disability, in addition to race, color, religion, or national origin. 41. Avoided Scandal: As of November 2011, served longer than any president in decades without a scandal, as measured by the appearance of the word "scandal" (or lack thereof) on the front page of the Washington Post. 42. Brokered Agreement for Speedy Compensation to Victims of Gulf Oil Spill: Though lacking statutory power to compel British Petroleum to act, used moral authority of his office to convince oil company to agree in 2010 to a $20 billion fund to compensate victims of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico; $6.5 billion already paid out without lawsuits. By comparison, it took nearly two decades for plaintiffs in the Exxon ValdezAlaska oil spill case to receive $1.3 billion. 43. Created Recovery.gov: Web site run by independent board of inspectors general looking for fraud and abuse in stimulus spending, provides public with detailed information on every contract funded by $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Thanks partly to this transparency, board has uncovered very little fraud, and Web site has become national model: "The stimulus has done more to promote transparency at almost all levels of government than any piece of legislation in recent memory," reports Governing magazine. 44. Pushed Broadband Coverage: Proposed and obtained in 2011 Federal Communications Commission approval for a shift of $8 billion in subsidies away from landlines and toward broadband Internet for lower-income rural families. 45. Expanded Health Coverage for Children: Signed 2009 Children's Health Insurance Authorization Act, which allows the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to cover health care for 4 million more children, paid for by a tax increase on tobacco products. 46. 33. Began Post-Post-9/11 Military Builddown: After winning agreement from congressional Republicans and Democrats in summer 2011 budget deal to reduce projected defense spending by $450 billion, proposed new DoD budget this year with cuts of that size and a new national defense strategy that would shrink ground forces from 570,000 to 490,000 over the next ten years while increasing programs in intelligence gathering and cyberwarfare. 35. Let Space Shuttle Die and Killed Planned Moon Mission: Allowed the expensive ($1 billion per launch), badly designed, dangerous shuttle program to make its final launch on July 8, 2011. Cut off funding for even more bloated and problem-plagued Bush-era Constellation program to build moon base in favor of support for private-sector low-earth orbit ventures, research on new rocket technologies for long-distance manned flight missions, and unmanned space exploration, including the largest interplanetary rover ever launched, which will investigate Mars's potential to support life. 36. Invested Heavily in Renewable Technology: As part of the 2009 stimulus, invested $90 billion, more than any previous administration, in research on smart grids, energy efficiency, electric cars, renewable electricity generation, cleaner coal, and biofuels. 37. Crafting Next-Generation School Tests: Devoted $330 million in stimulus money to pay two consortia of states and universities to create competing versions of new K-12 student performance tests based on latest psychometric research. New tests could transform the learning environment in vast majority of public school classrooms beginning in 2014. 38. Cracked Down on Bad For-Profit Colleges: In effort to fight predatory practices of some for-profit colleges, Department of Education issued "gainful employment" regulations in 2011 cutting off commercially focused schools from federal student aid funding if more than 35 percent of former students aren't paying off their loans and/or if the average former student spends more than 12 percent of his or her total earnings servicing student loans. 39. Improved School Nutrition: In coordination with Michelle Obama, signed Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act in 2010 mandating $4.5 billion spending boost and higher nutritional and health standards for school lunches. New rules based on the law, released in January, double the amount of fruits and vegetables and require only whole grains in food served to students.

Expanded National Service: Signed Serve America Act in 2009, which authorized a tripling of the size of AmeriCorps. Program grew 13 percent to 85,000 members across the country by 2012, when new House GOP majority refused to appropriate more funds for further expansion. 29. Expanded Wilderness and Watershed Protection: Signed Omnibus Public Lands Management Act (2009), which designated more than 2 million acres as wilderness, created thousands of miles of recreational and historic trails, and protected more than 1,000 miles of rivers. 30. Gave the FDA Power to Regulate Tobacco: Signed the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (2009). Nine years in the making and long resisted by the tobacco industry, the law mandates that tobacco manufacturers disclose all ingredients, obtain FDA approval for new tobacco products, and expand the size and prominence of cigarette warning labels, and bans the sale of misleadingly labeled "light" cigarette brands and tobacco sponsorship of entertainment events. 31. Pushed Federal Agencies to Be Green Leaders: Issued executive order in 2009 requiring all federal agencies to make plans to soften their environmental impacts by 2020. Goals include 30 percent reduction in fleet gasoline use, 26 percent boost in water efficiency, and sustainability requirements for 95 percent of all federal contracts. Because federal government is the country's single biggest purchaser of goods and services, likely to have ripple effects throughout the economy for years to come. 32. Passed Fair Sentencing Act: Signed 2010 legislation that reduces sentencing disparity between crack versus powder cocaine possessionfrom100 to1 to 18 to1.

22. Created Conditions to Begin Closing Dirtiest Power Plants: New EPA restrictions on mercury and toxic pollution, issued in December 2011, likely to lead to the closing of between sixty-eight and 231 of the nation's oldest and dirtiest coal-fired power plants. Estimated cost to utilities: at least $11 billion by 2016. Estimated health benefits: $59 billion to $140 billion. Will also significantly reduce carbon emissions and, with other regulations, comprises what's been called Obama's "stealth climate policy." 23. Passed Credit Card Reforms: Signed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act (2009), which prohibits credit card companies from raising rates without advance notification, mandates a grace period on interest rate increases, and strictly limits overdraft and other fees. 24. Eliminated Catch-22 in Pay Equality Laws: Signed Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2009, giving women who are paid less than men for the same work the right to sue their employers after they find out about the discrimination, even if that discrimination happened years ago. Under previous law, as interpreted by the Supreme Court in Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., the statute of limitations on such suits ran out 180 days after the alleged discrimination occurred, even if the victims never knew about it. 25. Protected Two Liberal Seats on the U.S. Supreme Court:Nominated and obtained confirmation for Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic and third woman to serve, in 2009; and Elena Kagan, the fourth woman to serve, in 2010. They replaced David Souter and John Paul Stevens, respectively. 26. Improved Food Safety System: In 2011, signed FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, which boosts the Food and Drug Administration's budget by $1.4 billion and expands its regulatory responsibilities to include increasing number of food inspections, issuing direct food recalls, and reviewing the current food safety practices of countries importing products into America.

15. Created Race to the Top: With funds from stimulus, started $4.35 billion program of competitive grants to encourage and reward states for education reform. 16. Boosted Fuel Efficiency Standards: Released new fuel efficiency standards in 2011 that will nearly double the fuel economy for cars and trucks by 2025. 17. Coordinated International Response to Financial Crisis: To keep world economy out of recession in 2009 and 2010, helped secure from G-20 nations more than $500 billion for the IMF to provide lines of credit and other support to emerging market countries, which kept them liquid and avoided crises with their currencies. 18. Passed Mini Stimuli: To help families hurt by the recession and spur the economy as stimulus spending declined, signed series of measures (July 22, 2010; December 17, 2010; December 23, 2011) to extend unemployment insurance and cut payroll taxes. 19. Began Asia "Pivot": In 2011, reoriented American military and diplomatic priorities and focus from the Middle East and Europe to the Asian-Pacific region. Executed multipronged strategy of positively engaging China while reasserting U.S. leadership in the region by increasing American military presence and crafting new commercial, diplomatic, and military alliances with neighboring countries made uncomfortable by recent Chinese behavior. 20. Increased Support for Veterans: With so many soldiers coming home from Iraq and Iran with serious physical and mental health problems, yet facing long waits for services, increased 2010 Department of Veterans Affairs budget by 16 percent and 2011 budget by 10 percent. Also signed new GI bill offering $78 billion in tuition assistance over a decade, and provided multiple tax credits to encourage businesses to hire veterans. 21. Tightened Sanctions on Iran: In effort to deter Iran's nuclear program, signed Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act (2010) to punish firms and individuals who aid Iran's petroleum sector. In late 2011 and early 2012, coordinated with other major Western powers to impose sanctions aimed at Iran's banks and with Japan, South Korea, and China to shift their oil purchases away from Iran.

7. Turned Around U.S. Auto Industry: In 2009, injected $62 billion in federal money (on top of $13.4 billion in loans from the Bush administration) into ailing GM and Chrysler in return for equity stakes and agreements for massive restructuring. Since bottoming out in 2009, the auto industry has added more than 100,000 jobs. In 2011, the Big Three automakers all gained market share for the first time in two decades. The government expects to lose $16 billion of its investment, less if the price of the GM stock it still owns increases. 8. Recapitalized Banks: In the midst of financial crisis, approved controversial Treasury Department plan to lure private capital into the country's largest banks via "stress tests" of their balance sheets and a public-private fund to buy their "toxic" assets. Got banks back on their feet at essentially zero cost to the government. 9. Repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell": Ended 1990s-era restriction and formalized new policy allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military for the first time. 10. Toppled Moammar Gaddafi: In March 2011, joined a coalition of European and Arab governments in military action, including air power and naval blockade, against Gaddafi regime to defend Libyan civilians and support rebel troops. Gaddafi's forty-two-year rule ended when the dictator was overthrown and killed by rebels on October 20, 2011. No American lives were lost. 11. Told Mubarak to Go: On February 1, 2011, publicly called on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to accept reform or step down, thus weakening the dictator's position and putting America on the right side of the Arab Spring. Mubarak ended thirty-year rule when overthrown on February 11. 12. Reversed Bush Torture Policies: Two days after taking office, nullified Bush-era rulings that had allowed detainees in U.S. custody to undergo certain "enhanced" interrogation techniques considered inhumane under the Geneva Conventions. Also released the secret Bush legal rulings supporting the use of these techniques. 13. Improved America's Image Abroad: With new policies, diplomacy, and rhetoric, reversed a sharp decline in world opinion toward the U.S. (and the corresponding loss of "soft power") during the Bush years. From 2008 to 2011, favorable opinion toward the United States rose in ten of fifteen countries surveyed by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, with an average increase of 26 percent. 14. Kicked Banks Out of Federal Student Loan Program, Expanded Pell Grant Spending: As part of the 2010 health care reform bill, signed measure ending the wasteful decades-old practice of subsidizing banks to provide college loans. Starting July 2010 all students began getting their federal student loans directly from the federal government. Treasury will save $67 billion over ten years, $36 billion of which will go to expanding Pell Grants to lower-income students.

JUST IN STARTING HERE ARE A FEW TIDBITS THAT MIGHT PLEASE YOU IN KNOWING. 1. Passed Health Care Reform: After five presidents over a century failed to create universal health insurance, signed the Affordable Care Act (2010). It will cover 32 million uninsured Americans beginning in 2014 and mandates a suite of experimental measures to cut health care cost growth, the number one cause of America's long-term fiscal problems. 2. Passed the Stimulus: Signed $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009 to spur economic growth amid greatest recession since the Great Depression. Weeks after stimulus went into effect, unemployment claims began to subside. Twelve months later, the private sector began producing more jobs than it was losing, and it has continued to do so for twenty-three straight months, creating a total of nearly 3.7 million new private-sector jobs. 3. Passed Wall Street Reform: Signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010) to re-regulate the financial sector after its practices caused the Great Recession. The new law tightens capital requirements on large banks and other financial institutions, requires derivatives to be sold on clearinghouses and exchanges, mandates that large banks provide "living wills" to avoid chaotic bankruptcies, limits their ability to trade with customers' money for their own profit, and creates the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (now headed by Richard Cordray) to crack down on abusive lending products and companies. 4. Ended the War in Iraq: Ordered all U.S. military forces out of the country. Last troops left on December 18, 2011. 5. Began Drawdown of War in Afghanistan: From a peak of 101,000 troops in June 2011, U.S. forces are now down to 91,000, with 23,000 slated to leave by the end of summer 2012. According to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, the combat mission there will be over by next year. 6. Eliminated Osama bin laden: In 2011, ordered special forces raid of secret compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in which the terrorist leader was killed and a trove of al-Qaeda documents was discovered.

Obama Sequester Proposal Slashes Funds for FEMA, Disaster Relief

"As Hurricane Sandy approaches the northeast United States, the left is attempting to politicize the storm, attacking Republican nominee Mitt Romney and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), for wanting to shift more responsibility for disaster relief from the federal government to the states.

They ignore the fact that President Barack Obama's proposal for the upcoming budget sequester would cut nearly $900 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, including disaster relief, food and shelter, and flood management at both the federal and state levels."

I would argue your 1st point, and that Obama economic policies, at best delayed an event, which I feel is still happening. The erosion of the middle class, permanent decline in employed roles and the impending fiscal cliff, would indicate that we are still suffering and there is no imediate path out.

On your 2nd point -- I would argue that we have no foreign policy. That we have walked away from our allies and are appologizing to our enemies. We no longer have the fighting force, navy, etc.. to effectively protect our nation and our national interests.

3RD consistency.... well I will give you that. Obama has been consistently taking us in the direction of a socialist economic solution and has destroyed the desire for people to take risk and invest in the future. He has consistently moved in the wrong direction.

It is because she and other super rich performers have free reign to anything they want.

It is good to see some people still have principles:

"First, his policies have saved us from what could have been the worst disaster since the Great Depression. (So far as one can determine from Romney’s vague, general and often contradictory statements, his policies would repeat the mistakes of the Bush-Cheney Administration and risk turning a slow recovery into a second recession, or worse.)

Second, his foreign policies have repaired much (but not all) of the damage inflicted by the Bush-Cheney Administration. Romney has been talking out of both sides of his mouth on foreign policy, but some of his closest advisors would advocate a course that Bush-Cheney proved to be disastrous.

Third, President Obama’s policies have been consistent. He has not accomplished everything in three and a half years that his supporters hoped, but the most important things required the cooperation of Congress. When the Republican leadership decided to cooperate on nothing in order to make him fail, they should take responsibility for the shortfall in expectations. If the Republicans consider jobs important, why did they not support the legislation Obama proposed last year? Answer: they wanted unemployment to stay high so they could blame Obama, not the Republican policies that created the Great Recession of 2007-2009."

How about calling Obama's failure to lead what it really is...dereliction of duty. The attack went on for about 8 hours. There had been numerous attacks on the embassy, plans to keep Ambassador Stevens safe should have been in place. This whole situation shows Obama is unfit to lead.

March 2006, Leadership means the buck stops here...I therefore oppose the effort to increase America's debt limit.

June 2008, I will never question the patriotism of others.
July 2008,Bush has added $4T to the national debt, that is unpatriotic.
April 2009, We have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms...

Midnight...please provide your source of information regarding "Obama has lawyered up and sealed his passport and college transcripts." I notice you post a lot but supply very few references.
Here’s one for you....Regarding the Tax Policy Center's feasibility study of Romney's tax plan "That study found, in short, that Mr. Romney could not keep all of the promises he had made on individual tax reform: including cutting marginal tax rates by 20 percent, keeping protections for investment income, not widening the deficit and not increasing the tax burden on the poor or middle class. It concluded that Mr. Romney’s plan, on its face, would cut taxes for rich families and raise them for everyone else. Many economists across the political spectrum have said they found the report’s conclusions convincing, like Alan D. Viard, a tax expert at the right-of-center American Enterprise Institute."
Even people from some of the right wing references you sometimes provide say his tax plan is a bunch of hooey.

"All these good signs come with caveats. Europe continues to weaken. The fiscal cliff looms ominously. But the fact remains, compared with the rest of the industrialized world and the arc of previous post-bubble recoveries, the United States is ready for a robust revival. This is partly because of the dynamism of the U.S. economy but also because of the timely and intelligent actions of the Fed and the Obama administration.

The next president will reap the rewards of work already done. So it would be the ultimate irony if, having strongly criticized almost every measure that contributed to these positive tends, Mitt Romney ends up presiding over what he would surely call “the Romney recovery.”

Obamas new plan is the old plan his own Senate
voted down TWICE, but with pictures of children. Property tax payers, S.S taxes,
pension taxes, to invest in America. Just like he
did "with the auto company?" Per the Des Moines
register interview. AND every speech he ever gave
for re-election.
We the American people bailed out GM. We the tax payers will bail out everyone. More debt, no money. No hope. Just go stand outside the GM plant, please? Bain never used tax payer money. Business and the economy need new leadership. We need
new leadership. Obama crushed WI. UAW
sends out a list of people to vote for.
They take it to the booth-check off the
names UAW tells them who to vote for. It
is too bad they never told the truth about Michigan taking the plant. Balance the budget. No country can run spending more than it takes in. We are Obamas charge cards and he wants the voters to trust him? Vote him out=Vote Romney out if he doesn,t get it done. My strong advice to the POTUS is to have a news conference, come clean. If he is re-elected, the truth will come out. Biden as the president? The truth will come out-Nixon had the guts to step down. There is too much on tape, too much!

Does anyone else ever get the feeling that it’s 3 or 4 people, using multiple screen names, accounting for 95% of the comments posted on this site?
.
I’ll throw it out there; I am voting for Obama this year (I previously voted Obama, Bush, Bush). I don’t think Obama has been a great president, but I also think he has been faced with some very large obstacles. My honest opinion is that a president should have two terms as long as the first term was not an absolute debacle. As I alluded to before, Obama walked into a debacle. I feel he has done a decent job as president thus far. I think he will only get better during his next term. If the shoe were on the other foot and Romney was the incumbent; I’d likely vote for him. I think “change” takes time.
.
I do have a hard time trusting what either candidate says, but more so with Romney than Obama. Romney may eventually become president…maybe a very good president, but I don’t think it is this year and his window of opportunity is small (this may be his only shot at it).
.
My main problem with nearly every politician is that there is always a separate agenda. They rarely do what is best for the country/state. They do what is good for the country/state and what is great for those greasing their palms.

Like I said, I don't believe it but apparently Mr. Romney disagrees with you.
.
“Gov. Romney disagrees with Richard Mourdock’s comments, and they do not reflect his views,” said campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul.
.
When you appear in an ad for only one Senatorial candidate and he says, "“I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God,” he said. “And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”
.
It is not a good day politically. I understand what he meant but that doesn't change what he said or how politics work.
.
Remember the "proud of this country" quotation by Mrs. Obama. Completely taken out of context. It happens all the time and yes, uninformed voters tend to be the ones that fall for it. It happens to all candidates because words matter.
.
You may have to be, "a complete and total idiot" to fall for it but you also, in 2012, have to be a complete and total idiot to make that statement 2 weeks prior to an election.

We are not pulling out of this. We are not. We have no growth. I left a notation last evening.
I hope anyone that wants to, finds it.

Whythink.......I think one would have to be a complete and total idiot to pull, "God intended rape" out of the context of that statement. Clearly he was talking about the life that came out of the horrible crime.....Any person stupid or ignorant enough to look at it from "God wanted the rape to happen" perspective wasn't going to vote for him anyway.......

The country is starting to turn around, coming out of the hole. It is a slow process. Pretty much the first two years were just trying to stop all the bad that was from bush policies. If we want to go back to where we were, elect mit. neither is a good choice, but we know what we have with obama, and it is scarey to think how bad it would be with the other

“Why was the general counsel of Turkey meeting with our ambassador at a CIA safe house on September 11th? And here’s where it gets strange. At 12:54 the White House, in e‑mails to the situation room, the White House is alerted there are people watching our safe house. The ambassador and the Turkish general counsel are in the safe house having dinner and there are people watching the exits. That’s what the memo says. They’re watching the exits. One guy says, ‘I don’t know if we’re going to get out of here alive.’”

“So we know that they know inside this is serious; we don’t know if we’ll get out of this one alive. An hour after that, the Turkish ambassador leaves through the front door and the front gate, unmolested. Now, you tell me, why was the Turkish ambassador there ‑‑ or the Turkish general counsel there? Why was he there? Why were they having dinner? Why was it so important on September 11th to go to the most dangerous city, to a CIA safe house? An hour after he leaves, the fight begins. We now know that the White House sent a drone, somebody, the military, somebody sent a drone. So there was a live video feed of what was going on. They’re watching it in the State Department, they’re watching it at the Pentagon, they’re watching it at Langley and they’re watching it in the situation room.”

“At 5:00 in the afternoon Leon Panetta has a meeting with the president of the United States. The first e‑mail comes at 4:05. So the Secretary of Defense arrives at the White House to have a meeting with the president 55 minutes after the situation room, and everybody else, gets an e‑mail saying Libya, the safe house is under attack. That’s three hours after the president got the first warning that somebody was watching the safe house. So they all know that something’s going down there. At 4:05 first e‑mail comes in; says we’re under attack. Leon Panetta arrives at the White House at 5:00 for a meeting with the president, the vice president, in the Oval Office.”
*************************************
Aren,t any of you aware a drone watched the attacks. Aren,t you are of what is
going on? Wake up. For the future of this country. Our safety.

Romney may have just tripped over the last hurdle...
.
"I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize that life is that gift from God. And, I think, even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen," Mourdock said.
.
The ONLY Candidate for Senator to have a commerical featuring Mitt Romney's endorsement... YOU GUESSED IT!
.
"""In the ad, Romney reminds viewers of Mourdock’s close work with Governor Mitch Daniels as state treasurer and that Mourdock’s election could give republicans the 51st vote they need in the senate to overturn President Obama’s health care reform."""
.
If Romney doesn't show leadership and immediately pull the ad endorsing Mourdock... The National campaign using Mourdock's "God intended rape" comments with Romney's endorsement ad could prove fatal.
.
I am not saying it would be fair and I certainly don't believe Mourdock sees rape as "God's intent" but this is politics. And Mourdock made this EASY.

So tired of the misleading claims about Obama saving the auto industry and Romney saying let Detroit go bankrupt. Wish people would READ THE ENTIRE ARTICLE in which Romney supported a managed bankruptcy through private investors with government assistance to back up warranties so owners did not get sunk. Obama actually took GM and Chrysler through managed bankruptcy but with goverment money of which an estimated 30 billion dollars of taxpayer money will never be recovered from GM. In the process, retiree health care was hard hit if under 65 because the Administration cut in half the amount Chrysler was to have paid the retiree health care account. They additionally basically gave away Chrysler to Fiat and subsequently gave about half of the stock originally designated for the retiree health care account to Fiat with no compensation to this account. As a result, any retiree under 65 is getting hit hard. My brother is a retiree with 42 years at Chrysler. He is fighting cancer. From last October until May (when he turned 65) none of his numerous appointments to doctors and specialists (to the tune of thousand of dollars) were covered. Once he hit 65, he had to switch treatment plan from one specialist and one hospital to another because the original one did not accept Medicare. I believe a managed bankruptcy under the private sector would have been more efficient instead of creating Government Motors. Chrysler is now supporting Fiat and actually should have been probably the ones buying Fiat instead of being given to Fiat. Of course, the latest issue of Union Solidarity repeats the union line that Obama saved the industry and that only Democrats care about the common people. Saved the industry to what degree? Unequal wages, no overtime after 8 hours, no COLA, starting pay at $15 maxing out at under $20 (know it sounds like a lot until you have been under the thumb of the assembly line which is your master), no pension, no healthcare on retirement, retirees not getting doctor visits covered plus monthly premiums from the pension checks and growing annual deductibles before insurance even kicks in on blood tests, a limit on preventative tests .... and on and on. In years past the wages and benefits the autoworkers were making were pulling up the wages of people in other industries, the new wages and benefits or lack thereof is no longer doing so. The purported salvation of the auto industry has, imo, been largely overstated and also a part of the race to the bottom. Wish people could see through all the partisan political lies or half truths and see that neither side is Washington truly has the future and best interest of the common man as their driving force for being there. Nothing is going to change regardless of who is elected unless our President and representatives start spending their time governing instead of working for reelection from November 6th on until the next election ad infinitum.
