Jets win in overtime
JANESVILLE The Janesville Jets defeated the visiting Coulee Region Chill, 3-2, in overtime Saturday in North American Hockey League play at the Janesville Ice Skating Center.
Jason Ford scored the winning goal 13 seconds into the overtime to give the Jets a two-game sweep and their third straight victory.
“Jason came up with a beautiful shot,” Jets’ coach Joe Dibble said. “He went in and it beat their guy upper shelf.’’
Janesville trailed 1-0 after two periods before Jordan Himley and Janesville native Conor Lemerande scored to give the Jets a 2-1 lead at 10:27 of the third.
“We kind of forgot what we were doing in the second period,” Dibble said. “But we came back in the third.’’
Coulee Region’s Hunter Anderson notched the game-tying goal with three minutes remaining in regulation.
“The goal was a shot from the point,’’ Dibble said. “It just trickled in the far side of the net.’’
The Chill made 39 shots on goal to the Jets 25. Janesville goalkeeper Austin Priebe stopped 37 shots.
Janesville is 7-5-2 in the NAHL’s North Division. Coulee Region is 2-7-2 in the Central Division.
