Janesville man arrested on seventh OWI charge
JANESVILLE — Robert A. Schumacher, 54, of 1930 Myra Ave., was arrested Sunday morning on a charge of operating while intoxicated, reportedly his seventh offense, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.
Schumacher was arrested after officers were dispatched at 10:55 a.m. Sunday to the area of Oakhill Avenue and West Memorial Drive for a truck stopped in the road. A witness reported the operator of the truck appeared to be intoxicated.
Upon arrival, officers found Schumacher walking in the area. After investigating further, officers arrested him on a charge of operating while intoxicated.
Schumacher also had an outstanding arrest warrant through the Department of Corrections, the release said.
Schumacher is being held at the Rock County Jail and is scheduled to make his initial court appearance at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8.
