Milton has eight individual qualifiers in state swim meet

Milton High's girls swim team will have plenty of ammunition in its bid for a third straight WIAA Division 2 state championship.

The Red Hawks will have eight individuals competing in Friday's state meet and all three relay teams after the WIAA released the list of additional qualifiers Sunday for the Division 1 and Division 2 state meets.

Milton's Katelyn Holmquist, Bridgette Alexander and Chelsea Calhoon finished 1-2-3, respectively, in the 100 backstroke at last year's state meet and all three qualified again this year in the event.

Janesville Craig junior Cady Gansen qualified for the Division 1 state meet in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.90.

Both the Division 2 meet on Friday and the Division 1 meet on Saturday will be held at the UW Natatorium in Madison.
