Police arrest four on weekend OWIs

— Citations given locally for drunken driving during the holiday weekend ranged from fourth to ninth offenses, authorities reported Monday.

-- A 32-year-old man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, fourth offense, after a single motorcycle accident at 6 p.m. Sunday at 5971 N. County F in Janesville Township. Aaron Kahl, 1943 Riverview Drive, Janesville, also was arrested for operating with a suspended license and failure to have control of his vehicle.


Kahl was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where he was listed in stable condition Monday. A passenger on the motorcycle also was transported to the hospital, treated for minor cuts and abrasions and released, deputies reported.


-- At the Southern Wisconsin AirFest event held this weekend, Rock County Sheriff's deputies were called at 3:38 p.m. Saturday for a spectator operating a motorcycle while intoxicated in a restricted area of the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport.


Deputies arrested Anthony D. Werner, 51, of 1219 MacArthur Drive, Janesville, for operating his motorcycle while intoxicated, fifth offense, and operating while his license is revoked.


-- Milton police officers on Saturday arrested Alfonso Carlos Loayza, 47, of 29 E. Wilson St., Elkhorn, for operating while intoxicated, ninth offense.


Police report Loayza was stopped for a speeding violation on Highway 26. He is being held in the Rock County Jail on the OWI charge and probation violation.


-- Janesville police arrested a 32-year-old Crivitz man, Joseph D. Lynch, on Monday for operating while intoxicated, fourth offense.


Officers said Lynch's vehicle was stopped just before 3 a.m. for lane deviation and other equipment violations on the frontage road in the 3900 block of Milton Avenue.
