Delavan-Darien names interim superintendent
At a meeting Monday, the board appointed Business Administrator Carey Bradley as acting superintendent.
"Whenever an organization has a change in leadership, it's important to keep things moving forward as best as possible with the resources available," Bradley said in a written statement. "My focus is on maintaining stability for the organization as we go through this transition."
Bradley will fill the position until a replacement is found for Overturf.
Overturf signed a separation agreement with the board last week a little more than a month after three new school board members were elected. Many of the candidates had openly said they wanted her to leave.
Overturf had two years left on her contract. Under the terms of her separation agreement, she will receive $150,000, 10 years of health insurance and a variety of other benefits.
Bradley, a licensed school business manager, has worked in education for more than a decade and has been with the Delavan-Darien district since 2006.
She has a master's degree in education.
The terms of her employment as interim administrator have not been settled.
