Local historian to conduct walking tours of parts of Janesville

— From May to October, local historian Rich Fletcher will conduct free walking tours of these Janesville districts:

-- Main Street overview: Meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Courthouse Park amphitheater, 51 S. Main St.


-- Jefferson Avenue/Forest Park: Meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at the corner of Jefferson and Ruger avenues.


-- The Tallman House campus: Meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 21, in front of Tallman Restorations, 440 N. Jackson St.


-- Milwaukee Street: Meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 19, in front of The Gazette building, 1 S. Parker Drive.


-- Look West district: Meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, in front of Tallman Restorations, 440 N. Jackson St.


-- Columbus Circle: Meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Elm Street and Columbus Circle.


-- The Civil War and Janesville: Meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Civil War Memorial in Courthouse Park, 51 S. Main St.


-- Prospect Hill neighborhood: Meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in front of St. Mary's Church, 313 E. Wall St.


-- Autumn stroll of Courthouse Hill: Meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Jefferson Park, 212 S. Atwood Ave.
