Beloit Snappers win sixth in a row

— The Beloit Snappers are the hottest team in the Midwest League.

Matt Koch hit a three-run homer for the second straight game Thursday afternoon to lift Beloit to a 7-3 win over the Quad Cities River Bandits at Pohlman Field. The win was the sixth in a row for Beloit and kept the team in first place in the Midwest’s Western Division.

Beloit got on the board quickly on Wang-Wei Lin’s leadoff home run in the bottom of the first.

Koch hit his three-run homer in the second to give Beloit the lead for good.

Matt Summers (4-2) picked up the win, allowing four hits and two earned runs, while striking out three.

The Snappers finish off the three-game series with Quad Cities at 7 o’clock tonight at Pohlman Field.
