— The Beloit Snappers held off the Peoria Chiefs for a 6-5 victory Thursday in Midwest League baseball.

Rory Rhodes' two-out RBI single in the ninth inning proved the difference for the visiting Snappers. Eddie Rosario and Drew Leachman each hit one out singles and Rhodes drove in Rosario after Jonathan Goncalves flew out.

The Chiefs scored a run on a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly in the ninth before Clint Dempster posted a strikeout for the save.
