Big Eight Conference girls soccer powerhouse Middleton took over in the second half Thursday night in a 7-0 win over Janesville Craig.

Craig (7-6-4, 3-4-0) trailed only 2-0 at halftime, but Middleton scored four quick goals to start the second half.

"We probably outplayed them, I thought, in the first half," Craig coach Bill McCabe said. "Unfortunately, we had a girl get sick at half, and before we could make the proper adjustments to start the second half, Middleton took advantage.

"Things happen that you can't control sometimes and you have to be able to adjust. But still, the game was a lot closer than the score would indicate."

Maddie Schroeder and Katie Villa combined to make 15 saves for Craig.

Craig plays at Kenosha Tremper in a nonconference game Saturday.
