— Dustin Richards had the magic touch Friday afternoon.

The Janesville Parker senior birdied the first hole of a playoff to win the Beloit Invitational at Krueger-Haskell.

Richards, a senior, finished with a 3-over par 73. Josh Smith of Southwestern also shot 73, but Richards birdied No. 10—the first playoff hole—to win.

“Dustin could’ve easily shot 69 if a couple more putts would’ve fell,” Parker assistant coach Bob Eicher said. “He played very, very well from tee to green.

“Overall, the team played well. They’ve changed the course around a bit here, and everybody had to adjust.”

Madison Memorial won the team title with a 318 total.

Parker finished fifth at 325, Milton ninth at 335 and Janesville Craig 13th at 350.

Taylor Braun and Peyton Graham each shot 81 for Parker, while Ryne Clatworthy had an 80 to pace Craig. Joe Meyer shot 79 for Milton.

The majority of teams competing Friday will play in today’s Ashenfelter Invitational at Riverside Golf Course in Janesville.
