— Nate Teuscher made his first start of the season a memorable one Friday night.

The Janesville goalie made 19 saves to lead the Jets to a 4-1 NAHL win over the Springfield Blues at the Janesville Ice Arena.

The loss snapped a three-game losing streak against Springfield, Janesville’s first-round opponent in the NAHL playoffs.

Janesville took a 1-0 lead after one period on Eric Carlson’s power play goal at 16:29. The Jets made it 4-0 in the second on goals from John Olen, William Preston and Pijus Rulevicius.

Teuscher, who was filling in for injured Janesville starter Tony Kujava, stopped 19 of 20 shots he faced.

The two teams wrap up the regular season tonight at the Janesville Ice Arena but will play a best-of-five playoff series beginning next Friday in Janesville.
