Parker track earns opening sweep

Parker High School opened the boys track and field season Tuesday with a 112.5-28.5 nonconference victory over Elkhorn.


Viking senior Brad Money, who is headed to Auburn University on a track scholarship, won the 400 (52.8) and 800 runs (2:05.2). Teammate Erik Albeck won the 300 intermediate hurdles (40.1) and the long jump (21-0).

Skaleski leads Viking girls


n Parker 76, Elkhorn 65—Brecklyn Skaleski won three individual events and participated in a winning relay as Parker High girls track and field team opened the season with a 76-65 nonconference victory over Elkhorn.


Skaleski won the high jump (4-10), triple jump (32-6) and the pole vault (8-3). Skaleski combined with Meagan Bumgarner, Morgan McCulloch and Ashley Hartwig to win the 800 relay in 1:59.8.


Miranda Slabeck added two victories in the 800 (2:37.7) and the 1,600 (5:40.3).


"We are young, inexperienced and not healthy," Parker coach Dave Lehmann said. "It was a plus for us to get a win."
