Janesville man arrested after shot fired

— A Janesville man was arrested late Sunday after a shot was fired through a door in a residential complex on the city's east side.

Janesville police arrested Ladale M. Johnson, 25, of 2633 N. Lexington Drive, No. 13, after reports of shots fired at 11:05 p.m. Sunday at that address, according to a news release from the police department.

Witnesses told police they saw a man and a woman leave an apartment after the sound of a single gunshot, according to the release. When police arrived at the Lexington Townhomes complex, they saw a man running through the complex courtyard. Police took Johnson into custody after a short foot chase, according to the release. He was arrested on charges of possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver and resisting. He is scheduled to appear in court April 16.

Officers confirmed that one shot was fired from inside the apartment. Police have not found any victims and have not determined who fired the shot, according to the news release.

The investigation continues.
