— A 23-year-old Janesville man was treated and released from St. Mary's Janesville Hospital early Sunday after being punched in the face by two men who stole his money and cellphone, said Sgt. Charles Aagaard of the Janesville Police Department.

The strong-arm robbery happened at 1:54 a.m. Sunday at Racine and Main streets as the man walked to his sister's house, Aagaard said.

When the two men approached him, they started a conversation and asked him if he wanted to buy drugs. When the victim declined, they assaulted him and stole his cash and cellphone before fleeing west on foot over the Racine Street Bridge, Aagaard said.

The assailants were described as Caucasian. One had blond hair and a skinny build; the other wore a baseball cap and shorts and was about 5 foot, 10 inches tall and stocky.
