Highway stops result in three arrests

— Three men are in custody at the Rock County Jail after a special highway safety and traffic enforcement effort took place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday to stop the transportation of illegal drugs into Janesville.

The coordinated effort between the Janesville Police Department, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Janesville probation/parole and the Milwaukee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area took place on Center Avenue between the Highway 11 bypass and Five Points, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

The operation resulted in 74 traffic violation stops where 46 warnings and 38 traffic citations were issued. During the stops, 13 felonies, 10 misdemeanors and three warrant arrests were made.

Two probation agents assisted during the operation and made contact with 16 people on probation/parole.

Arrested were:

n Carlton L. Glenmore III, 31, of 209 S. High St., Janesville, on charges of delivery of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, three counts; maintaining a drug house, three counts; and a probation violation.

n Marcus E. Knutson, 23, of 2030 Frederick St., Beloit, on charges of delivery of cocaine and a probation violation.

n Floyd L. Poe, 22, of 403 Rockport Road, Janesville, on charges of a felony probation violation.
