Bandits cut into Jets' lead

— The lead in the NAHL’s Midwest Division is down to one for the Janesville Jets.

Joe Kalisz and Cody Gancher scored two goals each Friday night to lead the St. Louis Bandits to a 5-1 win over the Jets.

Janesville leads the Midwest Division with 71 points, while St. Louis is now one-point behind with 70.

The Jets scored first on Jordan Bancroft’s goal at 7:51, but the Bandits responded with two goals late in the period to take the lead for good. St. Louis chased Janesville goalie Tony Kujava with three more goals in the second period in pushing the lead to 5-1.

St. Louis goalie Tyler Green stopped the last 36 shots he faced.

Game two of the three-game series is tonight.
