— A Janesville man is in custody after a hit and run crash early Tuesday in the 700 block of Rockport Road, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

Jeremiah J. Dodd, 25, of 1816 Randolph Road was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, fourth offense; knowingly operating a motor vehicle while revoked, causing property damage; hit and run; and disorderly conduct/domestic violence, according to the news release.

When police went to investigate a disturbance in the 1800 block of Randolph Road, they made contact with Dodd—who was highly intoxicated, the release said.

During their investigation, officers learned that earlier in the evening Dodd had been involved in a hit and run crash on Rockport Road, where the vehicle he was driving hit a parked car and left the scene, the release said.

A piece of the parked car was stuck in the side of Dodd's car, according to police reports. He pulled the piece out and put it in his backseat before driving away.
