— A former Big Brother Big Sister president was formally charged with two counts of repeated sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy Friday.

Rodney Meiller, 51, town of Lafayette, was taken into custody Friday after an initial appearance. He had been free on a $5,000 cash bond. During Fridayís appearance, Judge John Race increased the bond to $10,000 cash. A Walworth County Jail sergeant said Friday that Meiller was incarcerated.

Meiller was arrested June 18 by Lake Geneva police officers after complaints from the boy and his mother of sexual assaults by Meiller. He was freed on bond the next day.

According to the criminal complaint filed Friday, the 11-year-old boy said Meiller had sexual contact with him in a shower at the YMCA in Lake Geneva and at Meillerís home. Meiller was a big brother to the boy, but it is not known if that relationship existed at the time of the incidents reported by the boy. According to the complaint, the sexual contact occurred between July 1, 2011, and June 7, 2012.

Richard Lowe, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rock, Walworth and Jefferson Counties, said Meillerís status as a volunteer was terminated when the group learned of the allegations. Big Brothers Big Sisters newsletters list Meiller as president of the local organizationís board of directors in 2008 and 2009.

A spokesman for the YMCA said Meiller was not affiliated with the organization and visited on a day pass.

According to the criminal complaint, Meiller said he first met the boy in July or August of 2011 and last saw the boy June 7. Lake Geneva Detective Ed Gritzner said Meiller told him he showered with the boy in the same stall at the YMCA and slept in the same bed with the boy, according to the complaint.

Meiller is expected back in court July 11 for a continued initial appearance.
