— An Ohio man suspected of murdering his mother remains in the Walworth County Jail awaiting extradition paperwork from the governors of Ohio and Wisconsin.

Ryan Dillon, 24, Springfield, Ohio, is wanted in Ohio in connection with the May 9 murder of his mother, 59-year-old Vicky Burks of Springfield, Ohio. Authorities said Burks died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Dillon was arrested by Delavan police May 10 after authorities found his stepfather's pickup truck abandoned at the side of the road and Dillon walking nearby.

Dillon appeared in court Tuesday shackled and guarded by two Walworth County deputies. His extradition case has been continued until 9 a.m. Thursday, July 5.

Assistant Public Defender Travis Schwantes said the July 5 hearing could take "a couple of minutes" or longer depending on the specifics of the extradition warrant from Ohio and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's response.
