East hammers West in All-Star game

— The East All-Stars played Home Run Derby in winning Tuesday night's Midwest League All-Star game.

Sparked by three home runs in the first two innings, the East walloped the West, 18-2.


Steven Moya and Austin Hedges drove in three runs each for the East, while Garson Montilla, Okoyea Dickson and Tyler Goeddel homered.


The Beloit Snappers' Jonathan Goncalves picked up the lone RBI for the West with a sixth-inning single.


Beloit returns to Midwest League action on the road Friday night. The Snappers begin a six-game road trip with a three-game series at Cedar Rapids.
