Milton Raptors suffer first loss

The Milton Junction Pub Raptors suffered its first Rock River League loss of the season Sunday.

Visiting Neosho stopped Milton, 9-3, behind an 18-hit barrage. Neosho’s roster includes UW-Whitewater and UW- La Crosse players, including Parker High graduate and Warhawk Matt Beyer.

Milton is 7-1 in the Rock River League’s Southwest Division.

Neosho, the South Central Division leader, rolled to a 6-0 lead after three innings. Raptors starter Tom Klawitter was roughed up for six runs on six hits.

Milton banged out 10 hits, including doubles from Joe Shere and Tom Perry.

On Saturday, the Raptors hammered Farmington, 13-1, in seven innings. Jon Kas led Milton’s 14-hit attack with three home runs. Perry and Josh Shere also homered.

The Raptors travel to the Janesville Aces on Saturday and Helenville on Sunday.
