Albion blanks Cambridge
The visiting Albion Tigers defeated the Cambridge Blues, 4-0, behind Matt Buhrow’s two-hit pitching Sunday in Home Talent League baseball.
Albion is 8-0 and leads the Southeast Section’s West Division.
Buhrow didn’t allow a hit through eight innings before surrendering two hits in the ninth. Buhrow walked one and struck out 10.
Albion’s Aaron Laskowski led off the game with a triple and scored the only run Albion would need on Adam Gregory’s sacrifice fly.
The Tigers added another run in the fifth when Jamie Shelley reached on an error, was bunted to second by Pete Millar, and then scored on Laskowski’s single. Albion added insurance runs on RBI singles from Laskowski and Gregory.
The Tigers will be back in Albion at 6 p.m. Thursday to face the Fort Atkinson Generals.
