Janesville Legion to host weekend tournament

— Janesville’s American Legion baseball team will host a three-day tournament this weekend at Riverside Park.

The Father’s Day Tournament features three teams that draw players from high schools that recently competed in the WIAA Division 1 state baseball tournament. Hartford, Oconomowoc and state champion Sun Prairie are expected to participate, along with Beloit and host Janesville.

The tournament starts today with Beloit playing Sun Prairie at 5 p.m., followed by Hartford vs. Janesville at 7:15 p.m.

Saturday’s first game between Janesville and Beloit is scheduled for 10 a.m. Janesville wraps up a five-game schedule on Saturday with a 7 p.m. game against Sun Prairie.

The tournament concludes with three games Sunday. Janesville plays Oconomowoc in the final game of the tournament at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
