Janesville Legion rallies, falls in ninth inning
The Janesville American Legion team suffered its second straight loss Wednesday night.
Kenosha scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 7-6 win.
Janesville (4-2) trailed 6-0 after three innings but rallied to tie the game at 6-6 in the seventh on Colin Frey’s RBI single.
“I was very happy with the way we battled back from down 6-0,” Janesville coach Bob Schenck. “We just left too many men (11) on base again.
“We hit the ball decent but couldn’t come up with the clutch hit a couple times when we had chances.”
Nate Hoag and Dylan Hoskins had RBI singles in the third inning when Janesville cut a 6-run deficit in half.
Janesville hosts the Father’s Day Tournament this weekend and opens play Friday night against Hartford at Riverside Park.
