The Janesville American Legion team tasted defeat for the first time Tuesday night.

Genoa City took advantage of seven Janesville errors in pulling away for an 8-2 win.

Janesville (4-1) had only four hits but left 12 runners on base.

“You’re not going to win many games with four hits and seven errors,” Janesville coach Bob Schenck said. “The good news is that we can forget about this one right away because we play at Kenosha tomorrow night.”

“We played very well our first four games, so hopefully, this was just one of those games where things didn’t go right for us.”

Nate Hoag had two of Janesville’s four hits, while Charlie Meyer tripled.

Janesville travels to Kenosha tonight before returning home this weekend to Riverside Park where it hosts the Father’s Day Tournament on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
