What: 36th Walworth County Farm Bureau Dairy Breakfast

When: The breakfast is Saturday, June 16, from 6 to 10:30 a.m., with activities until noon.

Where: Walworth County Fairgrounds, 4111 E. Court St., Elkhorn.

Cost: $6 in advance, $7 at the gate. Children 5 and younger eat for free.

Details: The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, cheese, milk, juice, coffee and ice cream.

After breakfast, visitors can take a shuttle ride to the Marc and Scott Nelson farm near Elkhorn.

The Nelson brothers grew up on their family farm and now milk about 300 cows. They will be able to increase their herd to 350 after completing a milking parlor.

The brothers also raise their own replacement heifers.

At the fairgrounds, activities include milk chugging contest, craft sale, cow milking, "Ag in the Classroom" exhibits, coffee cake contest and other entertainment.

Why you should go: Kids might be surprised to learn on the farm tour that milk, ice cream and cheese don't just magically appear at the grocery store.

Those products come from animals raised practically in the kids' backyards.
