Tonkin gives Beloit Snappers plenty of relief

— Michael Tonkin shut the door on the Burlington Bees on Thursday night.

The Beloit reliever struck out all four batter he faced as the Snappers held on for a 4-3 Midwest League win.

Beloit trailed 3-2 in the eighth but rallied with two runs. Eddie Rosario doubled to tie the game and Miguel Sano’s RBI single gave Beloit a 4-3 lead.

A.J. Achter (2-1) picked up the win in relief. Tonkin earned his fourth save of the season by striking out Douglas Landaeta to end the eighth and all three batters in the ninth.

The two teams will wrap up the three-game series tonight.
