Burlington tops Beloit with three run-fourth

BURLINGTON, IOWA — A three-run fourth inning was enough to carry Burlington to a 4-1 victory over visiting Beloit in Midwest League baseball action Thursday night.

The Snappers managed just six hits, including two by Stephen Wickens.

Kennys Vargas drove in Beloit’s only run with a fourth-

inning double to score Drew Leachman. The hit gave the Snappers a 1-0 lead.

David Hurlbut fell to 3-5. He allowed five hits and three walks in five innings.

The teams conclude their

series with a 6:30 p.m. game

today. Beloit then travels to Peoria.
