Upcoming camp to teach engineering, robotics
JANESVILLE UW-Rock County will host an engineering/robotics summer camp the week of July 30-Aug. 3 for students going into grades 6-8. The day camp will meet from 9 a.m. to noon each day on campus at 2909 Kellogg Ave.
Participants will be involved in projects that allow them to build, break and better things as they learn how engineers use scientific findings to test different materials, predict behavior and use design principles. They also will program robots using Lego Mindstorm technology, build their own rocket and launch food in a trebuchet.
Tuition for the camp is $89. Scholarships may be available for students who qualify for the free/reduced school lunch program.
To register, call the office of continuing education at (608) 758-6565, Ext. 360, or visit rock.uwc.edu/ce/kids.
