Officials issue 139 citations at Phish concerts
TOWN OF LAFAYETTE The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and its drug enforcement unit issued 139 citations and seized 7.3 ounces of marijuana during a two-day concert at Alpine Valley Music Theatre, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The rock band Phish played at the music theater Saturday and Sunday. An estimated 37,000 people attended during the band’s two-day run, according to the release.
The drug unit arrested one person on charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, according to the release. Another 82 citations were issued for possession of marijuana, and 21 citations were issued for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The drug unit also issued six citations for disorderly conduct.
Patrol officers issued 27 citations for offenses including speeding, underage alcohol possession or consumption, disorderly conduct, littering, trespassing, battery and fireworks, according to the release.
Officers also located a runaway from Indiana who was returned to his parents, according to the release.
