Whippets perfect in North

Whitewater High continues to rule in the Rock Valley North girls basketball race.


The Whippets improved to 8-0 in the league with a 63-33 victory over visiting Evansville High on Thursday night.


Nicole Masterson led 10 Whippet scorers with 17 points, but she had plenty of support. Molly Griep added 12 points, and Kailey Reynolds had 10 as the Whippets went to 11-1 overall.


Whitewater built a 36-11 lead by halftime.


Brielle Greenleaf was the Blue Devils' main contributor with 17 points, including five three-point baskets. Evansville is 2-6 in the Rock and 4-9 overall.

Brianna Gaspervich scored 13 points to lead East Troy, and Rachel Atchison added 12. The Trojans (12-1, 7-1) took over sole possession of second place with the win.


Edgerton (10-3, 6-2), which trailed by 14 at half, got 13 points from Megan Johnson and 12 from Sammy Gander.
