Sun Prairie's 1-2 punch KOs Craig boys

Sun Prairie's one-two punch of Nick Noskowiak and Nick Fuller was too much for Janesville Craig on Thursday night.

Noskowiak, a 6-foot-1 freshman guard, scored 19 points and the 6-6 Fuller added 18 to lead the Cardinals to a 63-39 Big Eight Conference boys basketball victory over the visiting Cougars.

Noskowiak had three three-pointers and Fuller added two more as Sun Prairie built a 54-34 lead through three quarters.

Craig made one brief run in the first half, cutting a double-digit deficit down to six points at 24-18. But then the Cardinals hit the gas pedal and took a

36-24 lead into halftime.

"We didn't have good ball maintenance against their 1-3-1," Craig assistant coach Bob Richards said. "They are lengthy and strong, and one of the toughest teams in the Big Eight."

Cameron Wright led the Cougars with 12 points.

Craig is 3-8 in the Big Eight and 3-12 overall. The Cougars will be at Beloit Memorial on Saturday night.

Sun Prairie is 8-3, 10-4.
