Six Janesville Jets honored

Six Janesville Jets will participate in next month’s North American Hockey League Top Prospects Tournament to be held in Troy, Mich.

Five Jets will play on the Midwest Division squad that will be coached by Dane Litke, Janesville’s head coach.

The five players are forward Connor McBride of Hartland, forward Jordan Bancroft of Grand Forks, N.D., defenseman Michael Preston of Carmel, Ind., defenseman Will Preston of Carmel, Ind., and goalie Tony Kujava of Green Bay.

In addition, Jets forward Jake Horton of Lake Elmo, Minn., was named to the NAHL 18U Selects team that will participate in the tournament.

On Thursday, Feb. 22, Horton will be playing against Litke as the NAHL 18U Selects take on the Midwest team.

Bancroft is tied for 12th in scoring in the entire NAHL with 40 points. He has 18 goals and 22 assists.

McBride is tied for 20th in scoring with 37 points on 17 goals and 20 assists.

Kujava is the third leading goalie in the NAHL. The Jets are 22-4-2 when he is in net. Kujava has seven shutouts and has allowed just 1.69 goals per game with a .934 save percentage.

Janesville leads the Midwest Division with a 28-8-3 record.
