Brodhead increases league lead

Brodhead stretched its lead over Clinton in the Rock Valley South Monday with a 71-50 victory at Clinton.


The victory lifted first-place Brodhead to 6-1 in the Rock and 10-2 overall. Clinton fell to 3-4 and 7-6.


Taylor Douglas scored 18 points for Brodhead. Rachel Heller added 13 points, and Mariah Ahrens and Carly Mohns scored 12 points apiece for the Cards.


Megan Lantz scored 19 points, and Molly Niemann added 17 points for Clinton.

Evansville trailed 37-30 after three quarters, and Barneveld pulled away by outscoring the Blue Devils, 17-6, the rest of the way.


Rachel Slaney scored 13 points to pace Barneveld. Devon Sperry scored nine points for Evansville.

Alicia Oleson and Rachel Atchinson scored 18 points apiece, and Brianna Gaspervich added 17 points for East Troy. Natalie Burns and Niccie Smith scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, for Turner.
