West splashes past Craig; Beloit dunks Parker

Janesville Craig High School lost, 119-51, to visiting Madison West in Big Eight Conference boys swimming Friday.


The loss drops Craig to 3-4 in Big Eight duals.


Nick Krueger won the 100 backstroke in 58.94 seconds for Craig. Teammate Jimmy Loftus took second in the 200 freestyle in 1:56.68 and second in the 500 freestyle in 5:14.84.


“It was a very good time for Nick,” Craig coach Brian Kitzman said. “Nick has been trying to break a minute all season.’’


Craig travels to Menomonee Falls Invitational at 8:30 this morning.

n Beloit 87.5, Parker 82.5—Janesville Parker needed to sweep the top two places in the final 400 freestyle relay event, but came up just short in the Big Eight meet Friday.


The Viking team of Brandon Jackson, Kyle Amundson, Nick Masterson and Tommy Dvorak did win the 400 freestyle relay, but the Purple Knights came in second to send Parker home without a win in the back-and-forth meet.


Amundson won the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, while Dvorak won the 100 butterfly.


The Vikings compete in the Manitowoc Invitational today.
