— Adam Frank scored two goals, and the Janesville Jets defeated Chicago, 4-2, in a North American Hockey League game Friday night at the Janesville Ice Arena.

The teams play again at

7 p.m. today. Ticket windows open at 5:45 p.m.

Janesville, first in the Midwest Division, scored the first two goals, and Chicago only got within a goal twice.

Jordan Bancroft and Darren McCormick scored the other Janesville goals. Bancroft and McCormick also each had an assist.

Goalie Tony Kujava made 22 saves for the Jets (24-6-3).

The Hitmen fell to 6-26-1.

McCormick Player of Month

Janesville Jets forward Darren McCormick has been named the Combat Hockey NAHL Player of the Month for December.

The Buffalo, N.Y., native was acquired in a trade with the Amarillo Bulls early in December.

In two games with the Bulls and five with the Jets, McCormick had 16 points with six goals and seven assists.

The 18-year-old was plus-13 in those seven games. His goal and assist in Friday night’s win over Chicago gave him a eight-game point streak.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound McCormick was more of a grinder and checker with Amarillo. His role has changed since coming to Janesville.

“I was put on a scoring line and expected to produce points and it worked out,” McCormick said. “I have been playing with a couple of great linemates in (Jordan) Bancroft and (Connor) McBride, and it has made the transition easier for me.”
