Milton holds on to defeat Elkhorn, other scores

Sam McCann scored 19 points to lead Milton High School’s boys basketball team to a 59-54 nonconference victory at Elkhorn on Tuesday night.


The Red Hawks (4-6) took control early, outscoring the Elks, 18-4, in the first quarter and limiting Elkhorn to 14 first-half points. McCann had 13 of his points before halftime.


Erick Bolden scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half for Milton.


Elkhorn (4-6) rallied in the final two quarters behind Drew Bryson, who scored 20 of his game-high 22 points after the break. Arik Anderson added 10 points for the Elks.


Elkhorn outscored Milton, 40-30, in the second half.

-- Williams Bay 88, Delavan-Darien 82 (2 OT)—The Comets trailed 26-11 after the first quarter and roared back to tie it at 63 in regulation, but the Bulldogs survived in double overtime.


The game featured 84 free throws. Williams Bay made 23 and Delavan-Darien sank 19.


Adam Lechett scored 18 points to lead the Bulldogs. Serge Klyukuin and Lawrence Crement added 14 points apiece, and John Higgans chipped in 12 points.


Stephen Rodriguez scored 22 points, Bryce Hembrook added 21 and Dylan Heller chipped in 11 points for the Comets.
