New Year’s Day fire destroys three vehicles in Beloit
BELOIT An early morning New Year’s Day fire caused $70,000 damage at 822 Central Ave., according to a Beloit Fire Department news release.
Upon arriving at 6:03 a.m. Sunday, firefighters found a detached garage with three cars inside fully engulfed in flames. The fire, which caused heat damage to the single-family home and neighboring houses, destroyed a 1964 Chevy Impala, a 2003 Dodge caravan and a 1989 Cadillac Brougham.
At the time of the fire, tenants Thomas Croft Jr. and Ebony Davis were home. The house is owned by Doug Cash, according to the release.
Cause of the fire remains under investigation, the release said.
