Memorial finishes undefeated in Big Eight

— Madison Memorial downed Madison La Follette, 63-55, Saturday to put the cap on an undefeated Big Eight Conference boys basketball season.

The undisputed Big Eight champions finish 17-0 and 20-1 overall. La Follette finishes 11-6 and 13-8.


The Spartans gained a 27-15 advantage in the third quarter to take a 52-40 lead into the final quarter. Jamar Morris scored 12 of his 20 points to lead Memorial’s third-quarter charge.


Josh Morgan scored 21 points for La Follette and teammate Matt Hunter added 19 points. Junior Lomomba scored 17 points and Jester Weah added 11 for Memorial.
