McCann, Milton edge Fort

Milton High made 7 of 11 free throws in the final quarter and the Red Hawks overcame a four-point deficit to down visiting Fort Atkinson, 52-49, in a Badger South Conference boys basketball game Thursday night.


The Red Hawks trailed, 37-33, going into the fourth quarter. Sam McCann scored five of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to help Milton pull out the win.


Tyler Westrick added nine points as Milton finished 5-7 in the Badger South. The Red Hawks take a 10-12 record into their WIAA regional tournament opener at McFarland next Friday.


Tanner Boos led the Blackhawks (6-6, 14-8) with 11 points. Michael Rossing added 10.

-- Stoughton 49, Monona Grove 33—Stoughton put the finishing touch on its Badger North title with a win against visiting Monona Grove.


The Vikings finished 10-2 in the conference, and takes an 18-4 overall record into the WIAA regional tournament.


Senior Cole Brusegar led Stoughton with 16 points, while Connor Kowalkowski added 14.


Brett Percy led the Silver Eagles (3-8, 8-13) with 13 points, including three three-pointers.
