Brodhead girls clinch Rock Valley South

The Rock Valley South Conference girls basketball title belongs to Brodhead.


The Cardinals, behind 21 points from Taylor Douglas, pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 57-48 win over Clinton.


Brodhead improved to 13-2 in the Rock Valley South with one game left, while Clinton slipped to 10-5.


Clinton led by five at half but was outscored 37-23 in the second half.


Megan Lantz had 21 points for the Cougars.

Molly Wellnitz had 11 points to lead Parkview (4-10, 4-16), which has won three of its last five games.

Brittani Isham had 13 points, while Jen Petkoff had 10 points and nine steals for Big Foot.

-- Edgerton 79, Evansville 51—A short-handed Edgerton squad had enough to roll past visiting Evansville.


Brooke Ferrell led four Crimson Tide scorers in double figures with 16 points as Edgerton pulled away for the Rock Valley North Conference win.


Whitney Oren scored 13 for Edgerton before rolling her ankle.


Samantha Gander also had 13, Megan Johnson added 12, and Megan Montgomery had 11 as Edgerton went to 11-4 in the Rock Valley North and


15-6 overall.


Edgerton could be without Oren for a while, and will be without junior forward Kassie Walters, who has a torn ACL.


Kayla Klitzman led the Blue Devils (4-10, 5-15) with 21 points. Brielle Greenleaf added 14 points.
