Rock County

-- JASON A. NICHOLS, 30, of 411 Harding St., Janesville, at 9:01 p.m. Monday at the Rock County Jail on a charge of felony threat to injure or accuse of crime. Nichols is accused of sending a letter from the jail to American TV demanding $945 from the retail business. He said if he didnít get the money, he would contact 140 American TV customers and tell them that American TV hires burglars, drunks and drug addicts to deliver products. Nichols is a former employee of a company that contracts with American TV for deliveries, so Nichols would have had access to the names and addresses of American TV customers, according to police reports.

-- JASON M. MASONER, 37, of 960 Williams St., Beloit, at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday at the Janesville Police Department on a charge of burglary and theft.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- CHARLIE K. CHAN, 52, of 2743 Bond Place, Janesville, at 1:12 a.m. Jan. 19 at Chatham and Ravine streets, Janesville.

-- NICOLAS A. MONTERO, 20, of 1993 Colony Court, No. 9, Beloit, at 11:08 p.m. Feb. 19 on South Creek Road north of Shopiere Road in Turtle Township. Montero also was cited for operating without a valid license.

-- CHAD D. PERKINS, 34, of 49 S. Huron Drive, Janesville, at 3:02 a.m. Feb. 22 on Holiday Drive near Lexington Drive. Reports show Perkins was arrested for OWI, second offense.


-- HIGHWAY 14 SOUTH OF ELMER ROAD, in Union Township. At 2:45 p.m. Feb. 14, Parminder K. Sekhon, 49, Fitchburg, was driving north on Highway 14 when her Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a truck driven by Russell C. Jones, 19, of 8441 N. Highway 14, Lot 10, while Jones was waiting to turn left into a driveway at his address. The impact pushed Jonesí truck across the highway into the west ditch. Meanwhile, a third vehicle, driven by Kurt E. Vragel, 53, Glenview, Ill., rear-ended Sekhornís Jeep. Vragelís car rolled backward. Sekhorn was able to pull over onto the east shoulder of the road. Jones was transported to a local hospital with injuries, but his condition was not available. Sekhorn and Vragel were cited for inattentive driving.

Green County

-- N900 BLOCK OF COUNTY G, SPRING GROVE TOWNSHIP, at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. A vehicle driven by Maricela Nicolas Uriarte, 28, rural Brodhead, was southbound when she lost control, entered the east ditch, side swiped a utility pole and slid into an open field. The vehicle collided with a metal septic system pipe, causing the vehicle to roll. Passenger Jose Luis Villar, 27, rural Brodhead, was ejected from the vehicle and flown to University Hospital, Madison. A spokeswoman had no information on Villar on Wednesday. Nicolas Uriarte was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license causing injury, failure to maintain control and obstructing an officer.
