Gartner leads Lakeside boys to victory

Caleb Gartner had the answer to every challenge Columbus threw at him and his Lakeside Lutheran High boys basketball team Thursday night.


Twice in the fourth quarter the host Cardinals took a one-point lead. Both times Gartner hits baskets to put Lakeside back in front, and the Warriors went on for a 75-70 Capitol North Conference victory.


Gartner finished with 18 points. Dylan Schultz hit four of five free throws in the final quarter, and Tyler Doyle made all three free throws in the fourth as Lakeside went to


4-5 in the Capitol North and 12-8 overall.


Columbus is 0-9, 7-13.
