Edgewood tips Milton
Matt Ripple made a big wave for Madison Edgewood High on Thursday night.
Ripple hit a baseline jumper with 1.9 seconds left in the game to send the Crusaders past visiting Milton High,
61-60, in a Badger South Conference game.
Ripple’s basket ended the game that was close throughout. Forward Austin Arians, a 6-foot-5 senior, led the Crusaders with 26 points, including seven three-point goals.
Jack Zwettler added 10 points for Edgewood, 6-3 in the Badger South and 13-5 overall.
The Red Hawks stayed with Edgewood as freshman guard Tyler Westrick scored 13 points, and 6-5 senior forward Sam McCann added 11.
Milton is 3-7 in the Badger and 8-11 overall.
