Beloit men down St. Norbert in OT, women lose

BELOIT — James Lazarcik had the go-ahead basket with 32 seconds left in overtime to lift Beloit to a 69-65 victory over visiting St. Norbert in Midwest Conference basketball action Thursday.

David Bremner had a game-high 25 points to lead Beloit (8-12, 7-8), while Lazarcik added nine points and 18 rebounds.

Delavan-Darien High graduate Tyler Butke contributed 10 points in the victory.

Beloit women lose

Krista Hawkinson scored 13 points, and Morgan Heim added 11 as St. Norbert had no trouble downing Beloit, 60-36, in a Midwest Conference women’s basketball game Tuesday night.

St. Norbert improved to 15-1 in the conference and 17-4 overall. St. Norbert coach Connie Tilley earned her 900th career victory in basketball, softball and volleyball.

Lauren McNanna had 11 points for Beloit (1-14, 4-16).
