Janesville Salvation Army campaign reaches 85 percent of goal
JANESVILLE As of Christmas Eve, the local Salvation Army chapter had collected $276,000 to hit 85 percent of its $325,000 goal, said Maj. Bob Fay.
Last year, the church and social services agency received $54,400 between Christmas Eve and mid January, when the fundraiser ended, he said.
“If that stands true, we should be at the goal by the middle of January,” Fay said.
The annual holiday campaign receives donations through its traditional red kettles, mail appeal and walk-in donations to account for a third of the Salvation Army’s total cash budget.
