Cows cause crashes in Newark
NEWARK TOWNSHIP A group of six cows created trouble for two motorists Saturday night on County K south of Cleophas Road in the town of Newark.
According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, a southbound vehicle driven by Katherine L. Mielke, 33, 218 N. Main St., Orfordville, struck one of the cows at 7 p.m. Airbags in Mielke's vehicle deployed.
About the same time, a northbound vehicle driven by Katie M. Jacoby, 18, 10501 W. Highway 81, Beloit, also struck one of the cows.
No injuries to humans were reported. There was no word on injuries to the cows.
